What it is:
A bridge is a dental restorative solution that replaces missing teeth.
Bridges are made of three types of materials:
- Porcelain- most like a natural tooth in color
- Gold Alloy- strongest and most conservative in its preparation
- Porcelain fused to an inner core of gold alloy- combines strength and aesthetics
Procedure:
A bridge is made by fitting crowns over the teeth on either side of the space and attaching a false tooth between them. The bridge is then set in place with dental cement and cannot be removed.
Patient Benefits:
They function to restore the natural shape, size, and color of your teeth. They serve to build back or enhance your smile, help you speak and chew properly all while maintaining good tooth, bite and jaw alignment. Bridges also prevent remaining teeth from moving out of position.
